Bad therapists take the place of husbands. Husbands are supposed to be the wives' shields from stress, as men are designed to be able to handle stress.
Quite the interesting phenomenon to see when a woman gets married and gives birth to her first child, all of a sudden the “anxieties” vanish and life makes sense. Bible said that women get saved through childbirth. Sounds silly to our modern minds but it’s true and I’ve seen it happen many times.
I’d say the same about men. But this is not, in both cases, for the reasons you might consider: the shift is due to the newborn life. Most stressors suddenly relax because nothing really else is a problem. The health of the newborn is your new priority and nothing else is really an issue anymore. “You may have hundreds of problems but when you have a health problem, you only really have one problem.”
Yeah, I was about to say, we just had our first baby (of many, hopefully.) It certainly is not causing my wife zero anxiety. Just as long as we're clear on that verse of Scripture not meaning eternal, spiritual salvation, it's true.
Marriage and children are worth it, personally and societally. Think of responsibility as opportunity, not restriction.
If we wanted to apply this in the context of suicide, men are less likely to attempt it but are nearly 4 times more successful at completing it.
In any case... I wonder how this would apply/change in the context of situations like PTSD and trauma. Truth be told, if I didn't go to a trauma-informed therapist and just focused on "getting things done", I would have ended up on that same path. Many military veterans often end up having to watch their compatriots die to suicide over the years. There's clearly something that's wrong with the way we treat and look at these issues societally, but I don't think the push to therapy is really a contributing factor.
Hard to disentangle culture from hormones. There are cultural expectations for women to be caretakers, which is why so many of them are nurses. That same reasoning could explain why so many of them are talk therapists. If you're onto something, then the history of talk therapy should show a clear and undeniable focus on women from its start. But I don't expect that to be the case

Congratulations on your newborn!!Aim for 3 or 4!!! ✨
Most definitely, our current agreed upon number is no fewer than five. Probably 1-2 adopted, unless we go up to 7!
Attention and reassurance is a lot more expensive that it once was. C'est la vie.

Can men benefit from more testosterone and therapy? I would assume both are very useful
