1. Ditch the tap water
A May 2020 study titled Associations of fluoride exposure with sex steroid hormones among US children and adolescents, NHANES 2013-2016 found that the higher the concentration of fluoride in the body, the lower the testosterone levels and estradiol levels in 6-19 year olds.
Fluoride mediated disruption of sex steroid hormones has been demonstrated in animals. …Based on data of the National Health and Nutrition Survey (NHANES) 2013-2016, a total of 3392 subjects aged 6 -19 years were analyzed in this cross-sectional study. …Compared with subjects at the first tertile of plasma fluoride, percent changes (95% CIs) in testosterone were -8.08% (-17.36%, 2.25%) and -21.65% (-30.44%, -11.75%) for the second and third tertiles, respectively (P- trend <0.001). Male adolescents at the third tertile of plasma fluoride had decreased levels of testosterone (percent change = -21.09%, 95% CIs = -36.61% to -1.77%). Similar inverse associations were also found when investigating the relationships between plasma fluoride and estradiol. … The data indicated gender- and age-specific inverse associations of fluoride in plasma and water with sex steroid hormones of total testosterone, estradiol and SHBG in U.S. children and adolescents. Prospective cohort studies are warranted to confirm the causality.
Now, the available evidence papers specifically on fluoride’s effect on sex hormones is limited, as a systematic review on the health effects of fluoride in drinking water noted. However its conclusion was quite alarming:
evidence was considered strong for reduction in IQ scores in children, moderate for thyroid dysfunction, weak for kidney dysfunction, and limited for sex hormone disruptions.
And yes, there is evidence that fluoride calcifies the pineal gland. Fluoride accumulates in the pineal gland and other soft tissues and this leads to calcification.(S) A 2019 rodent study even suggests that a fluoride-free diet could grow the pineal gland.(S) Whether fluoride hampers spiritual aspirations is yet to be seen, but it may lead to decreased production of melatonin and worsen sleep quality. 2. Again, older people need more protein.
I’ve laid out why restricting protein to live longer is a bad idea in a video last year. A 2022 study in the journal Aging is another piece of evidence to that end. The paper found that more amino acids elderly consumed, the lower the degree of platelet aggregation. Platelet aggregation is the first step in forming a clot. Thus, eating more protein may reduce the risk of stroke and heart attack.
The lower reactivity of blood platelets observed in older men and women eating higher amounts of essential amino acids may possibly decrease the risk of cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular mortality.
3. Keto diet for ADHD?
The research on a ketogenic diet’s effects on ADHD is scant at best. A 2016 study on dogs found that dogs with ADHD-like behavior and epilepsy experienced an improvement in both from a ketogenic diet.
However, the research on ketogenic diets beneficial effects on epilepsy is quite thorough. It’s understood that one reason the ketogenic diet is beneficial for epilepsy is that it increases glutamate recycling. Long story short, this reduces glutamate and increases GABA. Research is implicating increased levels of glutamate and decreased levels of GABA in ADHD.
4. Acne isn’t normal
I had really bad acne as a kid. In Western societies, “acne vulgaris is a nearly universal skin disease afflicting 79% to 95% of the adolescent population.” A comparative study from 2002 found that of 1200 Kitavans (people of an island of Papua New Guinea), there were zero cases of acne.
5. The anti-meat push continues
Attorney General of New York, Letitia James is now suing America’s largest beef producer because it doesn’t have a "viable plan" to achieve its "Net Zero by 2040" goal.
Anything in why westerners are getting acne and others aren’t?
Noone is taking my beef away from me!
