Why subscribe to Joseph’s Newsletter?

I’ve been running the youtube channel What I’ve Learned for over 5 years now. What you see in the videos is about 15% of the research I do, because the rest just simply will not fit in a 15 - 25 minute video. It takes a really long time to make videos, but I have all these ideas and nuggets from research that I’d like to share with everyone.

What do I get for a paid subscription?

Simply put: More and bolder content.
50% of my posts will be available for for free, and the other 50% will be reserved for paid subscribers.

One thing I pride myself on is the ability to ingest all sorts of perspectives without it grinding my gears. I stay neutral and even if there’s an academic or famous author who has an agenda that I find completely misguided, I’ll still try and hear them out and look for points I can agree with.

That said… being a human, I’ve developed a stance on many topics. It would be fun to just plow forward with my perspective in my videos, but this can be an off-putting first impression for a general audience. My aim in general is to just offer new perspectives in a coherent way without ramming them down people’s throats. I try to stick to the data and not put too much of my spin on my videos.

However, if I have an audience that has seen enough and enjoyed enough of my content to pay for it, then I know you guys will be more open minded and more likely to give me the benefit of the doubt when I’m more forthright about touchier subjects. This will leave me more room to be more expressive about controversial topics.

That’s not to say that paid content will be only about hot-button issues.
